The first significant winter freeze across the UK is likely this week, with temperatures dropping well below zero degrees and with snow possible in many regions.

With unfavourable driving conditions and possible disruptions to public transport, it's time to ensure you have made arrangements in order to work from home.

If you are affected, ensure all your business calls are answered by:

  • Redirecting your 084 business number to a home line or mobile phone instead of the office if you can't make it in
  • Utilising the Auto-top-up feature to ensure you don't run out of mobile redirect credit
  • Enabling the call screening (whisper) function to differentiate between work calls and personal calls.
  • Changing your custom introduction to inform customers of changes in delivery times, office opening hours etc.
  • Accessing your on-line switchboard via the iPhone & iPad application as well as your pc
  • Remember you can divert your calls to up 5 different locations, so you and 4 other colleagues can all answer business calls from home
  • Making use of the (quick close) feature if your office is unattended, so your customers are not held in the call queue
